Sorsogon City Coastal Bypass Road

Project Overview

The 5.52-kilometer, four-lane Sorsogon Coastal Road passes through seven barangays: Pangpang, Tugos, Cambulaga, Talisay, Sirangan, Sampaloc, and Balogo. This new expressway, which includes bicycle lanes and a jogging lane, begins at Daang Maharlika and ends at the existing transport terminal in Sorsogon City. It also serves as a diversion road for traveling to the municipalities of Casiguran, Gubat, and Castilla.

Project Impact

The project besides alleviating heavy traffic on the main thoroughfare of Sorsogon City, was constructed to protect surrounding areas from storm surges, especially since the Bicol Region is frequently hit by typhoons entering the Philippine area of responsibility.
